IT Center EMEA counts 3 departments: IT Planning (PLAN), IT Development (BUILD) and IT Infrastructure (RUN). IT Development has 2 competence centres: Madrid and Ostend. You will be part of IT Planning, working from a brand new office in Oostkamp (near Bruges, Ostend Belgium).
The IT Planning department consists out of 10 internal staff strengthened with external consultants. They are responsible for IT Risk, Security & Compliance, Enterprise Architecture practice,  IT Project Portfolio Management, IT Budget management and finally also the Planning of the so called “Enterprise wide projects”. The latter also includes IT risk assessment (from Security, Compliance, Infrastructure and Business applications point of view) of newly acquired companies and defining an integration roadmap onboarding the acquired company onto our EMEA central solutions and platforms (as much as possible, as soon as possible). 
The vacancy is situated in this latter responsibility of IT Planning. To realize our company big growing ambition, we will, next to natural growth, acquire quite some companies in the coming years. To be able to cope with this increasing work volume we are in the search for an additional internal staff. You will be working together with an experienced colleague already working in that field. While his focus is more on the business applications, yours will be more, but not exclusively, on the infrastructure point of view. 
In this function building relations, communication is key. Your natural internal business partners are Strategic Planning colleagues in charge of looking for acquisition opportunities and afterwards coordinating  the PMI track and of course you also need to have close contact with IT colleagues, especially IT Infrastructure and related partners. 
Affinity and interest in business process and general business context is also important.
In defining the integration roadmap you need to balance the ever demanding expectations of top-management wanting to realize the strategic objectives, the execution capacity and capability of IT Centre EMEA and involved business key-users and the unique condition, capability of the acquired company. 

Job content
After an extensive introduction and training period, your main challenges will be:
•    Quickly grasp the AS-IS situation of the acquired company in terms of IT Critical assets, focussed on infrastructure and platforms, the expectations (business targets) of the involved Daikin Europe business stake-holders. Coordinate the IT PMI track, manage the external partner(s) supporting you in the execution of different simultaneously on-going tracks.
•    Acquiring a high level knowledge of the capabilities of the EMEA central solutions and thus being able to map them to the business applications of the acquired company.
•    Maintain a multi-year, multi company roadmap as to manage priorities and capture progress to be able to report as well to Strategic planning and top-management as trigger the planning and realization phase of each single project.
•    Next to coordinating those PMI tracks (starting with a risk assessments), building the integration roadmap and planning some of the core integration projects, you will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the M&A IT integration approach in order to gain efficiency and effectivity (shorter throughput-time, higher accuracy).
For this, you will need to make yourself familiar with the Daikin company and Business processes, strategy, organization, especially also IT Centre EMEA and the core applications they are developing and supporting.

 

Profile
•    You have a master’s degree as economist, engineer, computer scientist or equal.
•    Minimum 5 years (preferably more) of relevant experience in an international company of similar size in the industry in a  function related to planning and/or managing typically projects like rolling-out infrastructure platforms (like O365, VMware environment, desk-top management services, ….), similar experience with rolling-out an ERP is an additional asset. This functions requires a broad interest..
•    You have negotiation, persuading and communication skills and good in making compromises, and you build and maintain relationships easily.
•    Planning your work and making presentations to support discussions, as well  as making minutes of meeting to formulate conclusions made and pin down agreed actions, is a natural behaviour you have, because you like to work in a structured way.
•    Without being a technical specialist you have a wholistic understanding of how IT is supporting business and what it takes and you have a genuine interest in how (industrial) companies are functioning and being managed in a fast changing environment.
•    You are a team player and try to establish and keep a good relationship with both your IT and business colleagues. You have good communication skills (both verbal as well as written) and are not afraid to present to groups.
•    You are prepared to occasionally travel to Daikin group companies in Europe.
•    You have analytic and communicative skills in English, Dutch will be a plus.
