Manufacturing

The manufacturing division consist out of different departments with a local and/ or EMEA responsibility: 

Procurement takes care of the setup and maintenance of the supply chain for production parts.  They select new suppliers & negotiate prices of parts. Continuous improvement on parts cost is key to keep our product cost under control. In addition to the local procurement team, there is a collaboration with the European procurement team which is working on the centralized buying of production parts for the main factories in Europe. 

Manufacturing planning is the budget planning & follow up department of the total division. They keep track of required investments, expenditure and other resources to meet the forecasted production plan. They also calculate & follow up on the costs of units during the development & manufactured products.

Production engineering  is responsible for new and adjusted production processes (machines, assembly lines, supporting IT systems, internal logistic processes). This department collaborates closely with other departments like Production, QC and Design to manufacture in the most efficient way according to the PDS rules (Production Daikin System).

New products ensures that newly designed products can be manufactured smoothly and efficiently on the existing production lines. They build and evaluate prototypes based on ‘design for assembly’, with focus on quality and ergonomics. If a product is ready for mass production it is transferred to the production lines to be produced.

Production control looks to the best and most efficient production plan possible, in coordination with on the one hand the production management, and on the other hand the customer needs. Next to the planning of the manufacturing of the units, this team is also responsible for the availability of the necessary components and operators.
   
When the products are being produced at the production lines we also keep looking for improvements in the production process. The Monozukuri team is supporting the production organisation to do so. They help to improve processes on the workfloor (Kaizen) and they take care of the internal trainings of operators. 

Finally the Quality Control department is responsible for the elaboration, implementation and follow-up of our Total Quality Management program towards our own production & our core suppliers. 

As such they focus on quality of the parts which we buy and during the assembly process of our products.
