Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a Japanese outstanding company and worldwide the biggest developer, producer and supplier of HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) solutions, including heating pumps and cooling technology.

DENV is Daikin’s sales, R&D, and production headquarters for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. The headquarter has Belgian offices in Brussels, Ghent and Ostend, as well as 8 production plants, 24 sales subsidiaries and offices and a whole network of independent distributors and dealers across the EMEA region.

 

 

Within the Service and Solutions Department in Daikin Europe Headquarter in Brussels, we are looking for a new Business Development Manager to support our after-sales people in the 17 affiliates who are offering Turnkey Solutions: from replacement of Daikin equipment to more complex EPC contracts (Engineering, Procurement and Construction). 

 The EMEA Business Development Manager - Industrial HVAC Solutions plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth and expanding market presence within this Turnkey business segment. This position requires good technical knowledge of HVAC applications, a good understanding of the large commercial and Industrial market, strategic vision, strong leadership, and a proven track record in sales management. The ideal candidate is driven by an entrepreneurial mindset within a large corporate setting. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  1. Sales Process Optimization: 

  • Implement and optimize sales processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. 

  • Identify and address bottlenecks to ensure smooth execution of sales activities. 

  • Continuously improve processes based on feedback and performance metrics. 

 

  1. Affiliate Quotation Pipeline Management: 

  • Develop and implement a systematic solution for capturing and evaluating quotations from affiliates. 

  • Conduct monthly follow-ups at the organizational level to track progress and prioritize opportunities. 

  • Introduce probability weighting to prioritize high-potential opportunities and improve sales strategy. 

 

  1. Collaboration Enhancement with internal departments  

  • Strengthen collaboration with internal departments such as International Key Accounts and other products SBU to leverage synergies and cross-selling opportunities. 

  • Identify areas for collaboration and implement strategies to enhance teamwork and alignment. 

 

  1. Roll Out Standard Turnkey Solutions: 

  • Develop standardized turnkey solutions for common industry needs based on market research and customer feedback. 

  • Coordinate with product development teams to ensure timely and effective rollout of solutions. 

  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote and position turnkey solutions in the market. 

 

  1. Sales Support for Large Projects: 

  • Provide targeted sales support for the development of large and complex projects. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address specific project requirements and customer needs. 

  • Ensure seamless execution and delivery of projects to enhance customer satisfaction and drive repeat business. 

  

Qualifications and Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). 

  • Solid technical knowledge of HVAC systems and applications in the large commercial and industrial market required. 

  • Demonstrated strategic vision and the ability to develop effective sales strategies. 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach sales colleagues across various countries and cultures, even without direct functional management responsibilities. 

  • Minimum 10 years experience in sales management in Building industry and Services, particularly in achieving and exceeding sales targets. 

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to innovate and adapt within a large corporate environment. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and managing strong relationships with clients and colleagues in various affiliates and group companies.  

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and trends to drive sales growth. 

  • Proficiency in sales management software as SAP CRM or other tools. 

  • Flexibility to travel as needed to meet business requirements.
