Daikin Europe – Ostend or Brussels Office; limited, occasional travel within Belgium and across Europe may be required.
Role Purpose
The International Mobility Officer supports and drives the execution and continuous evolution of Daikin Europe’s international mobility activities within the EMEA region.
Beyond ensuring high-quality end-to-end coordination of international assignments, the role actively contributes to improving, optimizing, and future-proofing mobility processes and practices.
Reporting to the Section Manager EMEA HR International Mobility & Compliance, the position combines hands-on operational ownership with a proactive, innovative mindset, ensuring both excellent employee experience and efficient, legally compliant and scalable mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
International Mobility Operations:
- Coordinate the full lifecycle of international assignments (expatriation, impatriation, localization), from initiation to repatriation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assignees, ensuring a smooth and compliant mobility experience.
- Prepare assignment documentation including contracts, compensation packages, and mobility-related letters.
- Manage payroll inputs, benefits follow-up, and expense handling related to international assignments.
- Coordinate with external providers (e.g. immigration and tax specialists, relocation companies) to ensure seamless service delivery.
Employee & Stakeholder Support:
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on international mobility processes, policies, and practical implications.
- Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners (throughout EMEA), Payroll-, Legal-, and Finance teams to ensure aligned service delivery.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple countries.
Compliance Support (Operational):
- Ensure that all mobility cases are handled in line with internal policies and applicable legal, tax, and social security frameworks.
- Support the implementation of compliance requirements (e.g. immigration, social security coverage, income tax documentation), under the guidance of the Section Manager or relevant experts.
- Escalate complex legal or compliance-related issues to the Section Manager or specialist functions
Process Ownership, Data Management & Innovation:
- Take ownership of international mobility processes and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all assignments.
- Adopt a bird’s eye view on mobility activities, identifying inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Proactively initiate and contribute to process optimization, digitalization, and standardization initiatives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date mobility data and documentation.
- Support reporting and analysis related to international mobility activities.
- Translate operational insights into pragmatic improvements, new ways of working, and scalable solutions.
- Support the development and enhancement of mobility policies, tools, and frameworks in close collaboration with the Section Manager.
- Ensure processes remain fit-for-purpose, future-proof, and aligned with business growth, market trends and changing regulatory environments.
Required Profile
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Law, Economics, or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience is required in international mobility and related HR operations.
- Experience in international employment, payroll, taxation, social security and legal aspects of international mobility.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong customer focus and service-oriented mindset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact in an international environment.
- Team player with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); other languages are a plus.
- Good digital literacy (MS Office, especially Excel; HR systems and employment mobility platforms are an asset).

- Scope: End-to-end ownership and continuous improvement of International Mobility processes, combining operational excellence with innovation and forward-looking process development
