About the Department: The EMEA Development Centre (EDC) drives innovation and development within Daikin Europe and the EMEA Development Control department plays a pivotal role in supporting our development teams. Main responsibilities encompass project and resource planning and follow-up, as well as the set-up and enhancement of internal processes and systems within the R&D organization.
Job Location: DENV Research & Development Center in Ghent (Zwijnaarde), with occasional travel to other locations as required.
About the position: As an Internal Communication Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating, creating, and enhancing communication initiatives within the EMEA Development Centre. You will ensure that employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with company objectives, while strengthening collaboration and community spirit across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and deliver the EDC Newsletter and Newsflashes, ensuring timely communication of key updates, achievements, and initiatives.

Coordinate and host onboarding activities for new employees, including EDC-specific Newcomer Days, site visits, and introductory sessions, while continuously improving the newcomer experience and supporting successful integration into the organization.

Organize and support product launch events and internal showcases, highlighting innovation, teamwork, and project successes across EMEA. Plan and execute other initiatives that enhance engagement within EDC.

Maintain and continuously improve the EDC intranet to ensure accessibility and transparency of information. Support the creation of dedicated SharePoint platforms (e.g., sustainability, cybersecurity) to centralize and promote information.

Contribute to collaborations with external partners such as universities to enhance employer branding and engagement.

Support the organization of external visits and events in the Ghent site in collaboration with other departments.

Coordinate 'Fun at Daikin' initiatives to strengthen team spirit and foster a vibrant workplace culture.

Support training activities, such as the creation of e-learning materials.

Act as the main liaison with Corporate Communications, co-creating and aligning content for broader communication channels.
Candidate Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience in internal communications, event management, or a similar role is a strong advantage.

Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with a creative and proactive mindset.

Comfortable working in a multicultural environment and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Familiarity with digital communication tools such as SharePoint, intranet platforms, or content management systems.

Fluent in English.
