Section Manager – Embedded Software and Solutions
Daikin Europe is hiring a Section Manager for Embedded Software and Solutions within the EMEA Electrics and Controls department. As Section Manager, you are accountable for the people, technical direction, and delivery performance of a complete embedded software section. You lead multiple expert roles covering embedded software requirements, architecture, development, quality, compliance, product ownership, and project leadership. You operate as a middle manager: translating department strategy into execution, ensuring stable delivery, and developing people and competences for the long term.
About EDC
The EMEA Electrics and Controls (EDC) department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest growing departments within the EMEA Development Centre of Daikin.
The department is responsible for the development and improvement of control solutions, including:
- Room and unit controls
- Embedded platforms
- Connectivity, App and Cloud controls
Our activities cover:
- Embedded hardware architecture and development
- Embedded software architecture and development
- System integration and validation
Throughout all development steps, we combine in‑house expertise with strategic cooperation with external partners to enhance our products and keep them among the best in the industry. Close collaboration across Daikin departments ensures high-quality products for the Daikin EMEA market.
The Team
Within Equipment Controls, engineers work in their field of expertise (embedded hardware, software and system architecture). The team is responsible for delivering complete embedded solutions, starting from market and product requirements, over system architecture and design, up to industrialisation, validation and maintenance in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
As Section Manager of Embedded Software and Solutions, you are responsible for a section comprising various roles, including:
· Embedded Project Leaders
· Technical Product Owners
· Technical Analysts / Requirement Engineers
· Embedded Software Architects
· Embedded Software Engineers
· Software Quality Engineers
· Embedded Software Compliance Engineers
The section delivers end‑to‑end embedded software solutions, from requirements and architecture through development, testing, certification, release, and lifecycle support.
Job Content
As Section Manager, you have end responsibility for your section in terms of people, delivery, and technical governance.
You do not act as an individual contributor, but you ensure that the right people, competences, priorities, and processes are in place.

- Lead, coach, and develop team leaders, senior experts, and specialists within your section
- Perform performance management, goal setting, and competence development
- Ensure sustainable team capacity, knowledge continuity, and succession
- Create a motivating, inclusive, and ownership‑driven team culture
Delivery & Planning
- Ensure that section deliverables meet quality, cost, timing, and compliance targets
