Job Content

As a Senior Embedded System Architect, you are the technical authority for the embedded systems under your responsibility. You ensure architectural choices are consistent, scalable and aligned with Daikin’s long-term strategy.

You will not focus on day‑to‑day coding, but instead oversee and steer development from a system and architecture perspective. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and maintaining the overall embedded system architecture, covering hardware, software, interfaces and connectivity.
  • Translating business, product, quality and regulatory requirements into clear architectural concepts and system specifications.
  • Making and documenting architectural trade-offs with regard to performance, cost, reliability, safety, cybersecurity and maintainability.
  • Providing technical guidance to internal development teams and steering external development partners to ensure alignment with the defined architecture.
  • Reviewing system designs, technical proposals and implementation choices from suppliers and internal teams.
  • Taking ownership of architectural decisions throughout the complete product lifecycle.
  • Supporting projects by analysing complex system issues, proposing robust solutions and ensuring correct prioritisation and implementation.
  • Driving platform thinking and reuse across products where possible.
  • Following technological evolutions and industry trends, and proactively proposing improvements to Daikin’s embedded architectures.
  • Acting as a technical mentor for junior engineers and architects, contributing to the growth of architectural competence within the team.

Profile

  • You strongly relate to the Daikin Vision and are motivated to contribute to sustainable and innovative solutions.
  • You hold a Master’s degree in Electronics, Embedded Systems, ICT or a related field.
  • You have extensive experience with embedded systems, covering both hardware and software aspects.
  • You have proven experience in system-level or software architecture roles for embedded products.
  • You are comfortable working on a conceptual and abstract level, while maintaining a strong connection with real-world implementations.
  • You are a strong communicator who can align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You enjoy working in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
  • You naturally strive for consensus while being able to take clear architectural decisions when needed.
  • You have a proactive mindset and enjoy shaping long-term technical strategies.
