Department responsabilities

You  are responsible for the HR Service Centre, a team of HR-specialists, aiming for excellent employee experience, by offering a highly efficient digital service and personal advice in all personnel and HR legal topics.

 

As HR Manager in this team you focus on the efficient execution of our HR services and processes, including payroll (supported by an inhouse external partner) and employee benefits administration. In addition you take pro-active action towards further digitization of these HR processes.

 

Next to your direct colleagues in the HR Service Centre, you also have intensive professional contacts with the other HR Teams (HR Centre of Expertise resp. HR Strategic Business Partners), the IT department, labour unions and business stakeholders.

 

Your main working location will be Ostend, but occasional visits to our other Belgian locations may also be needed.

 

Job Description

As HR Manager Service Centre and Digitization, you will play an important role within the HR team. This from both a day-to-day operations point of view as well as a more long term strategic focus.

 

Operational team management:

  • Manage, motivate and develop the Service Centre and Digitization teams
    • You are responsible for the daily follow-up of 2 teams, as well as our inhouse external payroll partner team.
    • Part of your role is to coach and support the team members in their personal development.
  • Assure timely and efficient support to the business by the employee service and payroll teams. This includes:
    • Repetitive operational tasks, as well as our 3 times per week in-person service desk consultation, mainly for blue collars
    • Ad hoc questions from employees on compensation and benefits.
    • Personnel administration including contract management.
    • Follow-up of attendances and absences in the factory in view of manpower planning.
    • Individual case management linked with personnel related matters.
  • Assure social-legal compliance (with the support of the HR legal team):
    • Ensuring our policies and activities are in line with current and new social legal regulations
    • Compliancy to internal control systems (J-SOX, ISO, …)
    • Follow-up on disciplinary procedures and administration
  • Support the HR Digitization  team in setting the correct priorities and realizing digital and HR process improvements in view of employee experience.
  • Regular contact with all involved stake holders (business and the external payroll partner, labour unions, …)
    • Building up a good relationship with different stakeholders
    • Communicate with them on a regular basis and gain support for process changes that will be implemented

Strategic:

  • You are part of the HR Management team, participating in defining the further strategic direction of the entire HR department in Daikin Europe N.V.
  • Development and roll-out of the strategic direction of the service centre and digitization teams
    • Pro-active approach, anticipating on possible future developments needed within employee service, payroll and digitization
    • This includes the change management needed to support such developments
  • Participate in strategic meetings with IT, representing the HR interests in future companywide digitization projects.

 

Profile

 

  • Experienced people manager, who can deal with change management in the team
  • Experience in Belgian employment law and social law, as well as with Compensation and Benefits
  • Knowledge of and experience with payroll is a must
  • Experience with digitization topics would be a benefit but is not necessary. However a process and improvement-oriented mindset, with a proactive approach is a must.
  • Strong communication skills and the attitude of a team player and a networker, which enables you to maintain a good relationship with all your stakeholders
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and verbal; any other language is highly appreciated
