Supply Chain Spare Parts Officer
Department
Within Daikin Europe NV you will be working in the Service Operations Division in Ostend which is the headquarter of our European Supply Chain (EMEA). This division is responsible for technical support, the set-up of supporting systems, warranty treatment and the end-to-end spare parts supply chain. This chain starts with procuring parts from the different factories and continues via planning, warehousing and distribution through the Strategic Distribution Centre in Bornem and regional distribution centres spread across Europe. To support our yearly growth and increasing complexity, we are looking for a Supply Chain Spare Parts Logistics Officer who will connect stakeholders and steer operational excellence across our network.
Function
After an intensive training period, you become the key operational point of contact for the spare parts logistics network and act as a hands-on Supply Chain Spare Parts Logistics Officer. You ensure day-to-day alignment between our Strategic Distribution Centre (SDC) in Bornem (outsourced operations), the Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) spread over Europe and the VAN stock locations close to our customers. You connect stakeholders, translate operational needs into clear actions and standards, and drive continuous improvements with a strong focus on service level, quality, cost and operational stability.
As a member of our team you are a logistical liaison on three levels: (1) the Strategic Distribution Centre (SDC) in Bornem, (2) the regional warehouses across Europe, and (3) the VAN stock network close to our customers. As headquarters, you closely follow up the outsourced SDC operations in Bornem, challenge performance and steer improvement actions together with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you re-think and safeguard the policy, standards and accuracy of the VAN stock: you create clear working instructions and practical follow-up tools that can be used by technicians in their daily job. You also support the tendering process for SDC and RDC warehouses and represent spare parts logistics in corporate IT projects impacting the supply chain.
- Act as the operational liaison between SDC Bornem, RDCs across Europe and the VAN stock network, ensuring consistent ways of working and clear stakeholder communication.
- As headquarters, follow up the outsourced SDC operations in Bornem: monitor performance, steer improvements, facilitate root-cause analyses and secure implementation of corrective actions.
- Define, maintain and improve VAN stock policy and accuracy: create standards, working instructions and simple follow-up tools (KPI dashboards, checklists, exception lists) that technicians can use in daily operations.
- Support the tendering and re-tendering processes for SDC and RDC warehouses: collect requirements, support data preparation, contribute to evaluations and help translate contract agreements into operational implementation.
- Represent spare parts logistics in corporate IT projects related to the supply chain of spare parts (SPP): from requirements gathering and testing to go-live support and hypercare.
Frequent discussions on an international level with internal stakeholders, logistics partners and external suppliers are part of the job to come to practical solutions and clear agreements.
All above fit in the spare parts logistics excellence roadmap. Together with all stakeholders you translate insights from data, audits and operational follow-up into concrete improvement actions and standards, and you track progress through clear KPI governance and reporting.
Your profile
- You have a Master degree (Industrial Engineering) and strong interest in end-to-end spare parts logistics.
- You combine a hands-on mentality with an analytical mindset: you like to be close to operations, work with facts and translate data into practical improvements.
- You are able to manage stakeholders at different levels (SDC, RDCs, technicians, HQ) and communicate clearly to align priorities and ways of working.
- You have experience with operational follow-up of outsourced logistics or are eager to develop this: performance monitoring, continuous improvement and structured problem solving.
- You have affinity with stock accuracy and standardisation; you can create clear work instructions, simple tools and KPI follow-up that support technicians in daily operations.
- You are comfortable supporting tender processes and translating requirements into measurable criteria and operational implementation.
- You are familiar with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data/reporting tools; knowledge of SAP and/or Power BI is a plus.
- A good knowledge of English is required; knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
