We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Logistics Planning and Improvements to lead a team of 6 logistics professionals and drive operational excellence in supply chain management. This role involves managing and optimizing logistics cost, enhancing network performance and managing relationships with logistics providers.

This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our logistics strategy and operations.

 

In this role you will be responsible for 5 pillars:

 

 

Team Leadership & Development:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a logistics team of six members, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Define individual and team performance objectives and ensure alignment with company goals.

 

 

Logistics Cost Management

 

  • Budgeting: Prepare the European logistics budget four times a year, managing costs exceeding 200 million EUR.
  • Forecasting: Quarterly forecasting of monthly logistics costs.
  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Initiate, monitor, and report on cost-saving actions.
  • Monthly Cost Analysis: Conduct monthly analysis of logistics costs.
  • Cost Reporting Development: Develop cost reporting mechanisms to ensure accountability among colleagues.
  • Invoice Management: Manage and improve tools and procedures for processing European logistics invoices, ensuring timely payments to providers.

 

 

Logistics Network

 

  • Tendering & Negotiation: Handle the tendering process and assist in negotiating contracts with logistics providers, together with our regional logistics managers.
  • Project Oversight: Supervise logistics projects, including setting up new warehouses and transport companies.
  • Warehouse Management: Ensure warehouse capacity and insurance coverage align with current and future needs at strategic, tactical, and operational levels.
  • Suggestions & Impact Simulations: Propose changes and simulate their impact on costs, service quality, and CO² emissions within the logistics network. Ensure calculations from the European team are accurate and well-visualized.

 

 

Reporting

 

  • Presentations: Prepare and present reports at various company meetings for Senior and Top Management.
  • Meeting Organization: Organize and prepare the monthly Supply Meeting with European colleagues and introduction programs for newcomers.
  • Monitoring & Improvement: Monitor and improve reports and KPIs to reduce costs, waste, and inefficiencies e.g. transition to power BI and enhance CO2 emission reporting.

 

 

Logistics Provider Management

 

  • Warehouse & Distribution Management: Directly manage three large outsourced warehouses and the customer distribution flow to the Benelux, in coordination with the sales affiliates in Belgium and Netherlands.
  • Container Flow Management: Oversee the providers managing container flow from Asia to Europe, acting as the key account for shipping lines and inland transport providers.

 

 

Profile We Are Looking For:

 

  • Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in logistics management, people management/ coaching, cost control, and project oversight. Experience with large-scale logistics operations is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, reporting and communication skills. Proficiency in Power BI and other reporting tools are a plus.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Good leadership and team management abilities.
  • Languages: Fluency in English; knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
