About EDC

 

The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest growing departments withing the EMEA Development Centre (EDC) of Daikin. The Department is responsible for development and improvement of controls: room controls, unit controls, App and cloud controls.

Part of our work involves:

  • Hardware development

  • Cloud and App development

 

Throughout the development steps we combine “in house” development and strategic

cooperation with external partners to enhance our products, keeping them amongst the best in the industry. All Daikin departments have a close collaboration to ensure high quality products for the Daikin EMEA market.

Your Role:

 

  • Lab Management: As an Electrical Systems Support Coordinator, you are responsible for the inventory and equipment management of the electronics lab. This includes defining the standard component portfolio, implementing a stock management system, evaluating available tooling, and proposing necessary improvements. 
  • Supporting Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Test Campaigns: You will track and manage the lifecycle of various HIL setups throughout the entire R&D process, working in consultation with the maintenance team.

  • Manufacturing of HIL Setups: When HIL setups need to be built in-house, you are expected to take ownership of these tasks and ensure their timely completion.

  • Safety Advocate: You ensure that all electrical safety guidelines are followed and take corrective actions when necessary

 

Your Qualifications

 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, coupled with relevant electrical training and certifications (BA5).

 

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
    • Knowledge of electrical components, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and wiring.
    • Understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
    • Competence in using hand and power tools for cutting, drilling, and assembling electrical components.
    • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment for troubleshooting and quality assurance.

 

  • Experience:
    • Prior experience in cabinet assembly, wiring, and integration is highly beneficial.
    • Experience working with electrical control systems and automation equipment.
    • Knowledge of industry-standard practices for cabinet design, layout, and wiring.

 

  • Attention to Detail: Building and integrating electrical cabinets require meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications and safety standards.

 

  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions is essential in this role.

 

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for collaborating with team members, understanding project requirements, and providing updates on progress.

 

  • Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to workplace safety is paramount when working with electricity and electrical components. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures is vital to prevent accidents and injuries.

 

  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing project requirements, work environments, and technologies is valuable in this dynamic field
