The department:

The EMEA Development Control department is part of the Daikin's European Development Centre.

The responsibility of the EMEA Development Control department is to provide the necessary support for our development groups. This includes the following:

  • planning and requirement setting for new product development projects
  • resource (budget, labour) planning and follow-up
  • monitor, visualize and report the planning and execution of development projects
  • guarantee and improve internal processes and systems
  • making of installation and operating instructions for our products
  • learning and communication

 

The job location is Ghent, in a brand-new R&D building, but occasionally you may also need to go to our Brussels office and/or Ostend office.

 

The role:

You will share responsibilities for the documentation of products developed in DENV EDC, ensuring the quality, cost, and timely delivery of our product documentation. You will serve as a bridge between the product development teams and technical writers, illustrators, translation companies, and other stakeholders.

Additionally, you will take the lead in internal process/system improvement projects (AI and Digitalisation) related to product documentation. One of the biggest challenges in this domain is digital transformation to change-over from classical manuals (paper, PDF) to digital materials (HTML, movies, augmented reality, …).

 

You will be mainly involved in the following domains:

  • Project management (planning and follow-up)
  • Technical writing & illustrations
  • Translation management
  • Publication processes (print, online)
  • Terminology management
  • Internal knowledge management
  • Process & systems improvement

 

Your profile:

  • You obtained a master's degree;
  • You have an analytical mindset;
  • You have a linguistic background/experience or a strong interest in technical documentation;
  • You have an eye for detail;
  • You have project management interest and/or skills;
  • You don’t have a problem doing administrative tasks;
  • Experience with specific software packages is not mandatory, but having knowledge of CCMS and/or graphical tools (such as Adobe Illustrator) is an asset;
  • You have excellent communication skills;
  • You are fluent in English; knowledge of another European language is a plus;
  • This function is also open for young graduates.
