The EDC is a rapidly growing development centre that creates new products and continuously improves existing products. It offers a dynamic and modern work environment with a wide range of opportunities. Development projects span all tasks from the specification of new products to market launch. Product specifications ensure on the one hand that products comply with the latest legal requirements and technical standards of the target markets. On the other hand, changing installer and customer demands are taken into account.
The design of products and the preparation of technical drawings are central tasks of the EDC. The optimization for production, installation and maintenance are main focus areas. Various simulation tools and rapid prototyping methods are used for this purpose.

A core competency in the EDC is testing and analysing the performance as well as the product quality of new developments. Technical test chambers and test benches with state-of-the-art measurement and control technology are employed to achieve reliable and reproducible results. Prototypes at various stages of development are used, from rapid prototyping setups to devices ready for series production. Software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop methods are used to develop new or further improve established control algorithms. The creation of test specifications and their validation criteria is also part of this field of activity.
Part of each development process is the cost analysis of the products as well as the creation and maintenance of the technical product data sheets and technical instructions. In addition, the EDC continuously implements product improvement and cost reduction measures for products already in the market .
