Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a Japanese outstanding company and worldwide the biggest developer, producer and supplier of HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) solutions, including heating pumps and cooling technology.

DENV is Daikin’s sales, R&D, and production headquarters for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. The headquarter has Belgian offices in Brussels, Ghent and Ostend, as well as 8 production plants, 24 sales subsidiaries and offices and a whole network of independent distributors and dealers across the EMEA region.

The service and solution department

Our market and our customers’ expectations are rapidly changing. Today, clients deserve a premium service experience to complement top air-conditioning and heat pumps. Supporting Daikin EMEA in this shift towards being a premium service provider, is what lies at the heart of our Service & Solution department. To further shape and develop Daikin’s Services business, we are looking for a Business developer. This is a multi-faceted business function in collaboration with international stakeholders. Our EMEA headquarters are located in Brussels and Ostend, but through our sales network we have an extensive presence throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

In this role, you will be an intermediary between our local sales organizations across EMEA and the headquarter in Belgium to ensure we are delivering proactive, professional and efficient services to all clients. You will support the local sales organizations in driving the growth by developing go-to-market strategies and challenging these where needed. You will become the expert contact for Proactive HVAC services (lifetime maintenance & overhaul programs).

  • Understand and investigate market potential, trends and clients’ needs to develop a sound sales and business strategy for a given service or market.
  • Understand key drivers, impacts on costs, revenues and elements for success of the proactive business. Define KPIs, objectives, etc. to make the service business profitable.
  • Work with Product Development and Sales on the product launch and go-to-market strategy to ensure that the service is successful in the marketplace upon release.
  • Prepare appropriate materials (e.g. presentations, leaflets, training material) to promote new offerings and convince both internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Become a trainer for developing Proactive HVAC services within the local organisations.
  • Support development of annual budgets and action plans in support to local sales organizations.
  • Support the creation and implementation of sales & reporting tools, including process improvements.
  • Monthly follow-up of sales results and defining countermeasures to close any gaps to budget.
  • Communicate on EMEA sales progress through meetings and timely status updates.
  • Continue to work with Product Development, Sales and Product Marketing to manage the service through its life cycle and to ensure it meets the goals for revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow-up various projects relevant to your domain. Discuss with Legal, Finance, IT and other departments to clarify all aspects of a project or service.
  • Build a strong and trusted relationship with local sales organizations and other departments.

 

This is you?

  • University / college degree with a technical orientation.
  • Between 5 and 7 years of relevant professional experience within business development, product management or related fields in a B2B environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English. Comfortable with presenting complex topics.
  • Strong customer and strategic mindset.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude with a result-driven personality and a clear, structured approach.
  • Comfortable with working in a startup-like environment and developing structure amid ambiguity.
  • Stimulated by new challenges, with a willingness to develop knowledge on HVAC services business.
  • Enjoy operating independently, while remaining connected to your team and several internal teams.
  • Located in the EMEA headquarter in Brussels and flexible to travel (up to 10-15%).
