About the role:

Daikin are seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Refrigeration Design Engineer with a strong background in designing Ammonia-based refrigeration systems for industrial applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing refrigeration systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

How you will contribute:


•    Design and Develop industrial refrigeration systems, with a primary focus on Ammonia (NH3) systems.
•    Perform thermal load calculations, system sizing, and component selection for compressors, Condensers, Vessels, PHE and other critical equipment.
•    Create and review P&IDs, flow diagrams, layouts, and technical drawings using CAD software.
•    Conduct performance analysis and optimize refrigeration system efficiency.
•    Ensure compliance with international refrigeration codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, GCC and local regulations).
•    Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and site installation teams.
•    Provide technical support for project execution, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
•    Supporting on cost estimation, material selection, and vendor coordination for refrigeration components.
•    Stay updated on industry advancements and recommend innovative solutions for system improvements.
•    Lead or mentor junior engineers in design best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications & Skills:


•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
•    8+ years of experience in designing industrial refrigeration systems, with a strong focus on Ammonia-based applications.
•    In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration cycles.
•    Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other design software for refrigeration system layouts.
•    Experience with compressors, heat exchangers, cooling towers, and piping systems.
•    Understanding of refrigeration safety protocols, risk assessments, and hazard mitigation.
•    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
•    Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:


•    Certification in Industrial Refrigeration (IIAR, RETA, or similar organizations).
•    Experience in CO2 refrigeration systems alongside Ammonia-based systems.
•    Knowledge of automation and control systems for refrigeration plants.
•    Previous experience working with EPC contractors or MEP firms specializing in refrigeration.
