About the role
The person is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced control system solutions for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities. This role involves working closely with clients, engineering teams, project managers, and sales to create optimized architectures for HVAC controls, energy management systems, IoT integrations, and smart building technologies. The Design Engineer ensures that proposed solutions are technically compliant, cost‑effective, scalable, and aligned with customer needs and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop end‑to‑end system architectures for Building Controls, including HVAC controls, lighting, metering, IoT platforms and integrations with other ELV systems.
- Prepare detailed technical BOQs, system schematics, network architecture diagrams, and integration strategies. Ensure solutions meet client requirements, operational efficiency goals, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the technical authority for building controls projects during pre‑sales, design, and execution phases. Guide engineering and commissioning teams to ensure technical accuracy and solution integrity. Review engineering documents, control drawings, databases, and software logic.
- Work with sales teams to design compelling and competitive solutions during tendering and RFP stages. Conduct technical presentations, solution walkthroughs, and value-engineering discussions with clients and consultants. Lead technical clarification meetings and support estimation efforts.
- Design and validate integrations between BAS and third‑party systems (Modbus, BACnet, OPC, KNX, APIs, IoT gateways). Recommend innovations in smart building technologies, digital twins, cloud ecosystems, dashboards, energy platforms, and AI-enabled analytics. Evaluate emerging technologies and suggest adoption paths for the organization.
- Support project execution by resolving technical issues, validating control strategies, and ensuring architecture adherence. Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning as needed. Ensure design documentation, submittals, and compliance reports meet high-quality standards.
Qualificiations and experience:
- Bachelor Degree – in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 7–12 years of experience in Building Automation / HVAC controls / BMS design and integration.
- Strong background in solutions architecture, pre-sales engineering, or lead design roles.
- Expertise in BAS/ BMS architecture design, control strategies, and network topology.
- Familiar with protocols like BACnet/IP, Modbus, MSTP, LON, KNX, MQTT, REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, airside systems, and energy optimization.
- Hands-on experience with supervisory software, graphics, trending, and alarming.
- Knowledge of IoT solutions, cloud integrations, and analytics platforms.

Preferred Experience:
- Working knowledge of control systems,such as Niagara Framework, JACE controllers, and other building management system (BMS) platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

- Tridium Niagara N4 Certification
- BACnet Professional Certification
- PMP or Prince2
- Cybersecurity certifications
