About the Role
The Regional Safety Engineer, based in Dubai, is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible work environment across the region. This role suits a technically strong HSE professional with hands-on experience in occupational safety, risk control, and multi-site safety governance, contributing to the strengthening of Daikin Middle East & Africa’s regional QHSE framework.
The position supports regional oversight of safety systems through audits, inspections, incident investigations, and standardization, working closely with local safety teams and regional stakeholders to enhance safety maturity and ensure regulatory and corporate compliance.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Strengthen DAME’s regional QHSE governance by implementing standardized safety procedures, inspection protocols, and risk control frameworks across all entities.
- Conduct scheduled regional safety audits, inspections, and walkthroughs at offices, warehouses, service operations, and manufacturing sites.
- Review incident notifications, verify quality of root cause analysis, and ensure effective closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the development and delivery of regional safety training, onboarding modules, campaigns, and Safety Week initiatives.
- Contribute to the deployment of safety dashboards, KPIs, and digital reporting systems to enhance visibility and performance management.
- Participate in contractor and subcontractor safety evaluations, ensuring alignment with DAME’s minimum safety requirements and regional HSE expectations.
- Support emergency preparedness, emergency response planning, and business continuity documentation reviews.
- Provide professional guidance and technical escalation support to safety officers across all affiliates.
- Promote regional safety culture initiatives such as Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), Safety Recognition Programs, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure alignment with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements in documentation, audits, incident investigation, and overall system execution.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a regional or multi-country context.
- Strong understanding of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements, with practical involvement in audits, documentation, and compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting HSE audits, inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Skilled in incident investigation and RCA techniques (5-Why, Fishbone, fault-tree, etc.).
- Experience coordinating HSE programs across business functions or locations.
- Ability to interpret regional regulatory requirements and integrate them into corporate safety programs.
- Hands-on proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, and basic exposure to BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, report writing, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and cultural adaptability.
Preferred
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or equivalent auditor certification.
- Working knowledge of environmental aspects/impacts assessment under ISO 14001.
- Experience supporting HSE digital transformation, KPI dashboards, or reporting systems.
- Exposure to subcontractor safety management and multi-site governance.
- Experience supporting emergency preparedness or business continuity programs.
- Demonstrated capability in safety culture development or BBS initiatives.
- Up to 30% international travel across the Middle East & Africa.
- Flexibility to visit remote operational sites and engage directly with local safety teams.
