About the Role
The Project Manager – Datacentres, based in Riyadh, will be responsible for leading the delivery of data centre HVAC projects throughout the project lifecycle, from design development through project execution, commissioning, and handover. The role ensures technical compliance, on-time delivery, adherence to quality standards, and customer satisfaction while serving as the primary point of coordination between internal teams, consultants, contractors, developers, and service operations to ensure successful project delivery.
How You Will Make an Impact
You will lead the successful delivery of data centre HVAC projects across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, on-time delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction, key responsibilities will include:
Design Stage Management
- Lead the project during the design development phase, ensuring Daikin solutions meet project specifications and client requirements.
- Coordinate closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams to review equipment selections, technical submittals, and design compliance.
- Follow up with MEP consultants, design consultants, and project stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure Daikin products are specified.
- Identify technical risks and propose value engineering opportunities while maintaining performance and reliability requirements.
- Monitor design progress and ensure timely submission of technical documents.
Execution Stage Management
- Manage project execution from order confirmation through commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate with main contractors, MEP contractors, project developers, and consultants to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to achieve on-time completion.
- Ensure equipment delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning activities are executed according to project requirements.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues arising during project execution in collaboration with internal departments.
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide progress reports to management.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with the Service team to ensure seamless commissioning, performance testing, warranty support, and project handover.
- Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, Factory, and Finance teams to maintain project schedules and commercial objectives.
- Ensure all project documentation, approvals, variation orders, and close-out documents are completed accurately.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, Daikin standards, and applicable international data centre standards.
- Monitor project quality, safety, and environmental requirements throughout execution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and capture lessons learned for future projects.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in HVAC project management, including data centre or other mission-critical facility projects.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, precision cooling, CRAH/CRAC units, heat rejection systems, and commissioning processes.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, and developers on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Technical expertise in HVAC systems for mission-critical facilities.
- Strong planning, scheduling, and risk management skills.
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of contract administration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office applications.
